We are happy to announce that the finalists have been selected for exhibition in e-merge 2006.

Entrants submitted over 650 pieces for consideration for this year's show. Jurors Jeremy Lepisto, Kirstie Rea, and Dena Rigby selected 40 finalists out of 238 entrants. Names of all the finalists and their selected work can be found below.

e-merge 2006 is Bullseye Glass's fourth biennial juried kiln-glass exhibition. Bullseye Glass Co. is a manufacturer of colored glass for art and architecture with worldwide distribution and a strong commitment to education.

The e-merge 2006 exhibition, including its awards and catalog, is one of the ways that Bullseye Glass recognizes and honors students, early-career artists, and others who are rising through the ranks of kilnformed studio glass but are not yet represented at the top-flight international galleries.

JURORS

Jeremy Lepisto is co-founder of Studio Ramp, LLC. He is active in kilnformed glass art, production, commissions, classes, and equipment design. Jeremy worked at the Bullseye Glass Company for five years in a variety of capacities including glass production, assisting visiting artists, and helping to develop new ways of glass working. He is a regular at Pilchuck Glass School and has taught in Australia, Ireland and the U.S. A current board member of the Glass Art Society, Lepisto received his BFA in glass and metals from Alfred University in 1997.

Kirstie Rea, an internationally recognized studio artist from Canberra, Australia, has worked in kilnformed glass for twenty years and been involved with the combination of kilnformed and blown glass since 1994. She studied with Klaus Moje at the Canberra School of Art and coordinated the Bullseye Latitudes Project worldwide. Rea was vice-president of AusGlass, 1992-93 and is a former board member of the Glass Art Society. She devotes her time to working in her studio and teaching at the Canberra School of Art and internationally.

Dena Rigby is a partner in D&A Fine Arts, Los Angeles. She has been involved with the studio glass movement for over ten years, first as a manager at Seattle's Foster/White Gallery, then in her own art management company, Dena Rigby Fine Arts. For many years, she has organized the tours for Pilchuck Glass School's annual gala auctions. She coordinates and leads educational tours for museum groups across the US and is currently working with the Glass Art Society on its first annual Collectors Seminar. Most recently Rigby was presented a seat on the Contemporaries Board for the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. She holds a degree in fine arts history from the University of Florida.
