e-merge 2008 Winners Announced

Congratulations to the e-merge 2008 award winners! e-merge is Bullseye's juried biennial exhibition recognizing kiln-glass art and emerging artists in the field. The exhibition offers over $5,000 in prizes and finalists are represented in a full-color catalog.

The works of the finalists are now on display at the Bullseye Resource Center gallery through July 25, 2008.

The exhibition opening reception was held on the evening of May 17, 2008 at the Bullseye Resource Center. Prizes were awarded as follows:

Sabine Rosenberger, Munich, Germany

Silver Award

Ruth Gowell, Falls Church, Virginia

Bronze Award

Essi Utriainen, Munich, Germany

Academic Award

Sarah Vaughn, St. Louis, Missouri

Kilncaster Award

Shane Caryl, Rochester, New York

Newcomer Award

Saman Kalantari, Bolzano, Italy

Popular Prize

Heather Palmer, San Francisco, California

The jurors who selected this year's winning entries were Jane Bruce, Dante Marioni, and Richard Speer. They each brought a unique sensibility to the judging and helped create a show that highlights the enormous potential of kiln-glass art.
