LOST WAX KILNCASTING DEMONSTRATION
Presented by Erik Whittemore
Sunday, March 9, 2008; 2-4pm
RSVP February 26-March 7 (Required)

Lost wax casting is an ancient method that involves encasing a wax model in a mold, then melting out the wax and replacing it with a permanent casting medium.

In the case of lost wax kilncasting, the final casting medium is glass. And the entire casting process—from building the refractory mold, to melting out the wax, to filling the void left by the lost wax model—requires special knowledge, skill, precision, and patience.

Join Bullseye kilncasting and coldworking Instructor Erik Whittemore as he demonstrates the basic steps in adapting a time-honored method to casting glass in the kiln.
Location: Bullseye Resource Center, 3610 SE 21st Avenue, Portland, Oregon
