In this introduction to kilnwork's most popular form, participants make two fused and slumped plates with precut elements. Discussions of kilnforming basics—including glass and mold materials, firings, and more—integrate with demonstrations and hands-on workshop activity. This class offers a taste of the process for those who are curious and want to make something functional. Glass-cutting experience is helpful but not required.
