BECon 2007 OPENING RECEPTION
Thursday, July 19
7-9pm
Bullseye Gallery

BECon 2007 lifts off with a gala reception at Bullseye Gallery, where you'll toast old friends, meet new friends, and officially open Art into Architecture. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served and a no-host cash bar will pour forth libations. Free shuttle service between the gallery and the Hilton Hotel from 6:50pm to 9:30pm will conserve your energy for other important late-evening (or early-morning) activities.

FRIDAY NIGHT SPY & BUY
Friday, July 20
6-9pm
Bullseye Glass Factory & Resource Center
Required attire: Long pants and closed-toe shoes

Dust off your spyglass, hop on the Hilton shuttle, and investigate behind the scenes as company staffers guide you through the inner workings of the Bullseye factory—where art and science collide with sand and fire to produce 14,000 pounds of art glass daily. Visit the Resource Center store, where you'll be welcome to inspect and purchase from the full line of Bullseye Glass products (including special-production and curious glass) and view selected tool demonstrations. In the Resource Center studio, view the new Bullseye Edition kilns and ask Paragon Industries President John Hohenshelt anything you want to know about them. Also in the studio, watch senior Bullseye technician Paul McNulty demonstrate shelf preparation for large kilns and badger him with technical questions you may have about large kilns. And don't forget to hike up the stairs to see NOW, an exhibition of new works by members of the Bullseye teaching staff.

Note: The factory-tour portion of this event is by pre-registration only.

LEHR-B-Q
Saturday, July 21
7:30pm-10:30pm
Bullseye Glass Factory
Required attire: Long pants and closed-toe shoes

In your entire life you may never experience a more colorful display of culinary panache than the Bullseye Lehr-B-Q. Yes, the company that makes glass at the cutting edge of 17th-century technology will once again pull out all the stops and cook chicken and ribs to absolute perfection on its 100-foot-long, continuous-belt annealer, the "Lehr." (No material stress or strain within Bullseye's entrées!) Scrumptious side dishes, prepared with less industry-specific methods, will also be served, as will a selection of Oregon's famous wines and microbrews. Allow the Hilton to shuttle you there and back, take a cab, drive yourself, or crawl if you must—but do not miss this much-loved, Bullseye-only event.
