Bullseye's First
Kiln-Glass
Conference

PURPOSE

BECon aims to support teachers in the field of kiln-glass* by providing both accurate technical information and suggesting effective methods for the presentation of those materials within a classroom context.

Through these efforts the Bullseye Glass Company also strives to insure a healthy future for the medium, public appreciation for it as a glassworking method, and the continued growth of kiln-glass activity within the commercial and non-commercial sectors.

SPONSORSHIP

The conference is funded both by registration fees and by the financial support of Bullseye Glass Co.

The glass materials used in conference workshops, exhibitions and demonstrations will, for the most part, be those produced by the company. Presenters and attendees will be selected primarily – but not exclusively – from artists and technicians who are already familiar with this glass.

* "Kiln-glass" is the broad term we use to describe any glassworking process, method or technique that employs a kiln as the primary tool in shaping the material. Other terms in common usage are: kilnformed glass, fused glass and warm glass. Sub-categories of the field include: slumping, kilncasting, roll-ups and a wide range of other related methods.
