BIG IDEAS: Kiln-Glass in Architecture
Whether you're an architect, artist, fabricator, designer, studio operator, engineer, or instructor, BECon 2007 is the industry's foremost conference for anyone who works with kilnformed glass. This year's biennial conference is focused on the ever-increasing use of kiln-glass in architecture. It brings together leading glass and design experts to share their experience, knowledge, and vision of this versatile and visually stunning medium. From art, design and technical issues to marketing, building a business, and international trends - no aspect of the field of architectural kilnformed glass is left unexplored.
Opportunities to engage with other glass professionals in this way make BECon 2007 a unique event in the glass world. The conference covers a wide range of topics and practices, including:
• International surveys of current work
• Design & technical topics
• Professional practices
• Case studies
Other conference activities include tours of Bullseye Glass's innovative, groundbreaking production facilities, a private gallery reception, excellent networking opportunities, and, of course, the much-loved Lehr-B-Q event. Pre- and post-conference events include workshops in kiln-glass design, marketing and color, tours of kilnformed glass installations and studio tours. All plans are aimed at enhancing your experience here in Portland, Oregon, the heart of American kiln-glass.
