One reason for the high quality of Bullseye glass is that our workers really understand art glass — not only how to make it, but how to use it. Many Bullseye folks have an artistic side. Some of us spend our creative free time painting, designing, weaving and welding. The glass fanatics among us spend quite a lot of time working with glass outside of working hours. To honor this obsession, Bullseye sponsors an annual glass art competition for employees.

We thank the three Oregon artists who served as jurors for first second and third place: Jeff Wallin, Kim Osgood, and Jef Gunn. In addition to these prizes, a popular prize was awarded based on ballots cast by visitors to the Bullseye Resource Center during the early days of the show.

This year, twenty-six people entered works. They represent a wide variety of workers at Bullseye. Entrants' positions include batch crew, melter, caster, administrative assistant, research & education technician, warehouse crew, frit crew, maintenance crew, quality control crew, production manager, material handler, and frac blower. Below is some background about this year's prize winners.
